Summary of the Sermon by Pastor Mark McClendon, Sunday, 13 October 2019
18 And
Jesus came and spoke to them, saying, “All authority has been given to Me
in heaven and on earth. 19 Go therefore and make disciples of all the
nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the
Holy Spirit, 20 teaching them to observe all things that I have commanded you;
and lo, I am with you always, even to the end of the age.” Amen.
(Matthew 28:18-20)
All
Authority has been given to Jesus in heaven and on earth. Jesus promises us
that He will be with us till the end of time.
To every
believer has been given a measure of faith. The faith is borrowed from the
Authority of Christ. The Authority of Jesus has been given to us to accomplish
the will of Christ to and through us.
Our hand
phone has the capacity that far exceed our need to help us with our activities.
However, 95% of the usage of the phone is just for WhatsApp messaging, games,
and probably small other things.
The same
thing happens to our faith. Many of us didn’t realize the authority given to
us. There is anointing power, powerful that reside in us. No eyes has seen, no ear has heard and no mind has conceived what
the Lord has prepared for us. (1 Corinthians 2:9)
Now to
Him who is able to do exceedingly abundantly above all that we ask or
think, according to the power that works in us, (Ephesians
3:20)
The blood
of Jesus has redeemed us. Brought us back to the Father, and the Father make
Him the only begotten Son to be the first among many brethren. We are called
sons. (See Ephesians 1:10-12)
Now we are
the inheritors of the Kingdom and we represent our Heavenly Father.
Now all the
authority that Lord Jesus promised His disciples
When Jesus
taught the disciples how to pray, He said “Our Father…”
The
position of the sons is so dear in the heart of the Father. When we come to the
Father, He is so attentive to our prayers.
Our
Father in Heaven
Hallowed
be Your Name
Your
Kingdom come,
Your
will be done
On earth
as it is in heaven
When we
pray, we declare God’s Kingdom over the place, over the city, over everything.
The prayer
tower that was built by Pastor Mark McLendon, “Menara Doa Cahaya”,
was initially in the deserted place, not as promised by the contractor.
However, one day God told Pastor Mark McLendon to change the way the
intercessors were praying. Instead of just breaking spiritual strongholds, he
and the team of Intercessor’s started to declare the Kingdom of God over the
place, the place changed and now it is a vibrant city.
God already
knows what to do, all we need to do is proclaim.
Pastor Mark
gave a testimony of a friend from Cambodia, Pissad Aum.
He was suffering
in a lot of pain all over his body and called Pastor Mark. Pastor prayed for
him, and as He was praying He sought the wisdom of the Holy Spirit. Pastor Mark
sensed the leading of the Holy Spirit and urged him to go to Penang straight
away. He listened and in Penang, he was unable to walk and had to be carried in
by ambulance brought to ICU. He was in comma as he was severely attacked by
virus all over. A doctor said Pissad will surely die
based on the cases that the doctor had handled in the past. While in Penang
praying, Ps. Mark prayed and felt that it is God’s will for Pissad
to live as why would God asked him to come out all the way from Phnom Penh to
Penang, it is surely not to die there. Therefore, being the channel of God, Pastor
Mark pray and declared to the Kingdom of God come and His will be done on Pissad’s life. He lives because God is able to do
exceedingly abundantly above all that we ask or think!
Testimony
of Cody, Pastor Mark’s son who was waken up in the middle of the night because
of great fear. God gave Pastor Mark an analogy. When a policeman stands and
hold his hand, all the cars stop. Doesn’t matter how he looks like or his
condition sick or well, all cars will still stop because he is a policeman. The same thing happens to us, we are not
perfect, still struggling with sin or problems, we may feel weak, tired or not
worthy. No matter what our situation we are facing, we are still the son and
daughters of our Father, the Living God. We have the authority over darkness.
We can
stand and cast the devil out. We are called to proclaim God’s authority on earth.
We are the
channel of the power of God.
The Kingdom
of God comes and His will be done in our lives in Jesus Name we pray, Amen.
