God wants to entrust us with His Kingdom. The Kingdom of God is not an earthly kingdom, it is not of this world. It is a spiritual Kingdom that physical eyes cannot see (John 18:36). The Kingdom of God is where the works of the devil is destroyed (Matthew 12:28).
Kingdom of God is not a matter of eating and drinking but it is about righteous, joy and peace in the Holy Spirit. (Romans 14:17)
Righteousness = Right standing before God and right living.
Peace = Peace with God, with Others and with Self.
Joy = Regardless of circumstances knowing that God loves us.
In the Holy Spirit = Given when we receive Jesus as Lord and Savior.
How do we receive the Kingdom of God? Through repentance and by faith.
“The time is fulfilled, and the kingdom of God is at hand; repent and believe in the gospel.” (Mark 1:15 ESV). To repent means is to change the way you think and live. To believe in the Gospel means that we believe that Jesus Christ died for our sins. (1 Corinthians 15:3-4)
Priorities of Kingdom of God are more important than our needs. God knows our needs; He cares for our needs; pagan nations are seeking these things, but for His People, He commands: “Seek first the Kingdom of God and His Righteousness.” (Matthew 6:33)
As believers, we are commissioned to preach the Gospel of the Kingdom to ALL Places.
And this gospel of the kingdom will be preached in the whole world as a testimony to all nations, and then the end will come. God does not anyone to perish but to receive eternal life. (Matthew 24:14)
15 And he said to them, “Go into all the world and proclaim the gospel to the whole creation. 16 Whoever believes and is baptized will be saved, but whoever does not believe will be condemned. (Mark 16:15-16)
As believers, we are Christ’s disciples, who should also make an impact disciple others. 18 And Jesus came and said to them, “All authority in heaven and on earth has been given to me. 19 Go therefore and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit, 20 teaching them to observe all that I have commanded you. And behold, I am with you always, to the end of the age.” (Matthew 28:18-20)
In doing so, God knows that we need Power and Authority to overcome the enemies.
We are backed up by Jesus’s supernatural power for the LORD has overcome!
When He had disarmed the rulers and authorities [those supernatural forces of evil operating against us], He made a public example of them [exhibiting them as captives in His triumphal procession], having triumphed over them through the cross. (Colossians 2:15)
And Jesus came up and spoke to them, saying, "All authority has been given to Me in heaven and on earth. (Matthew 28:18)
Jesus has given us Power & Authority
19 I will give you the keys of the kingdom of heaven, and whatever you bind on earth shall be bound in heaven, and whatever you loose on earth shall be loosed in heaven (Matthew 16:19 ESV)
Five Steps to Exercise God’s Power & Authority to do His Commission
1. Be in His Kingdom
Only when we are part of the Kingdom of God that we can have authority and power from God. Without any relationship with God, our faith is purely a religious activity.
Then some of the itinerant Jewish exorcists took it upon themselves to call the name of the Lord Jesus over those who had evil spirits, saying, “We exorcise you by the Jesus whom Paul preaches.” 14 Also there were seven sons of Sceva, a Jewish chief priest, who did so. 15 And the evil spirit answered and said, “Jesus I know, and Paul I know; but who are you?” 16 Then the man in whom the evil spirit was leaped on them, overpowered them, and prevailed against them, so that they fled out of that house naked and wounded. (Acts 19: 13-16)
2. Know His Word
When we read the Word of God, we will know what God can do through us.
Listen carefully: I have given you authority [that you now possess] to tread on serpents and scorpions, and [the ability to exercise authority] over all the power of the enemy (Satan); and nothing will [in any way] harm you. (Luke 10:19 AMP)
3. Believe His Word – Be Courageous to Take Step of Faith
When we pray for someone, have faith in God. We are only vessels to do God’s work. Do not be afraid to pray for someone who needs God.
19 and [so that you will begin to know] what the immeasurable and unlimited and surpassing greatness of His [active, spiritual] power is in us who believe. These are in accordance with the working of His mighty strength 20 which He produced in Christ when He raised Him from the dead and seated Him at His own right hand in the heavenly places. (Ephesians 1:19-20)
4. Live in Obedience and Submission
When we live in obedience and submission to God, we will receive the authority and power to do God’s work on earth.
For I also am a man subject to authority [of a higher rank], with soldiers subject to me; and I say to one, ‘Go!’ and he goes, and to another, ‘Come!’ and he comes, and to my slave, ‘Do this!’ and he does it.” When Jesus heard this, He was amazed and said to those who were following Him, “I tell you truthfully, I have not found such great faith [as this] with anyone in Israel. (Matthew 8:9-10)
5. Align to His Purpose - Kingdom Alignment Releases Kingdom Authority
and heal those in it who are sick [authenticating your message], and say to them, ‘The kingdom of God has come near to you.’ (Luke 10:9)
Touch someone today with God’s Love and God’s Power. Cast out demons; heal the sick; demonstrate His Power and preach the Gospel. Let people see us and see the life of Jesus Christ our King, Lord and Savior through us. Carry God’s Kingdom to the world to see the glory of GOD through ordinary people like you and me.
