Summary of the Sermon by Pastor Raimond Praptana, at Bethany International Service, on Sunday, 24 February 2019.
Here as In Heaven
As we received Jesus Christ as our personal Lord and Saviour, our spiritual passport will be changed from black to Gold. Our citizenship is changed. We become the citizens of the Kingdom of God. We have a place in Heaven – a place of hope, joy, and no more tears. Now we can start living as the citizens of the Kingdom of God. We do not have to wait until the Lord Jesus comes a second time. It is possible for us to experience heaven on earth.
A kingdom is the reflection of the king. The measure of a kingdom relies on who rules over it. Look at the king to know how great the kingdom is. The world has seen many great kingdoms come and go: Babylonian Empire, Persian Empire, Mongolian Empire, Roman Empire, and the Greek Empire.
If we are in the Kingdom of God, our King is the King of kings. Remember that we will reign and rule with Him. What do we know about the Kingdom of God?
Unshakable Kingdom (Hebrews 12:27-28)
This means that all of creation will be shaken and removed, and only the unshakable thing will remain. Since we are receiving a Kingdom that is unshakable let us have grace, by which we may serve God acceptably with reverence and godly fear. (Heb 12:28)
What is unshakable? It doesn’t shake. It doesn’t move.
What is the foundation of our lives? Are living on our own rules, our own abilities and forgetting the greatness of our God?
Kingdom of Power (1 Corinthians 4:20)
Our God is a God who has power that can turned water into wine, heal the sick, and raise people from the dead. There is nothing impossible with God.
Kingdom of Goodness (Righteousness), Peace, and Joy in the Holy Spirit (Romans 14:17)
Righteousness means right standing before God. So, when we live in the Kingdom of God, there is no place for condemnation. We have been redeemed by the blood of Christ.
The Peace and Joy from the Kingdom of God cannot be moved. Instead it has the power.
Kingdom of Love (1 John 4:8-10)
The Bible tells us that God is love. Let us lift up Jesus on high. He is our King.
There is a song from Hillsong, “What a beautiful Name” that is very meaningful. It says, “You didn’t want heaven without us. So Jesus You brought heaven down …”
Jesus’s sacrifice made it possible for us to live an unshakable life, full of goodness, peace, joy, power and love here on earth is it is in heaven.
Everyday in our lives we don’t need to live in fear or in a state of hopelessness, but we can live full of power, goodness, peace and joy. There is no place like being in the presence of the Lord. When we are in God’s presence, we can get a glimpse of heaven. That is why we are taught to pray, “for Your Kingdom come, Your will be done.”
To experience here as in heaven, we must emulate on earth how business is conducted in heaven. We need to apply Kingdom principles on earth.
It is not my will be done, but God’s will be done. With intimacy comes sensitivity. We need to get guidance from the Lord. We need to have the willingness to change for God’s glory.
Do not love the world or anything in the world. If anyone loves the world, love for the Father is not in them. (John 2:15-16)
Whose flag are we raising in our lives? God wants to use us greatly, to bless us greatly. He wants us to experience here as in heaven.
What do we want to experience here as in heaven? We can experience - love, peace, joy, jobs, breakthrough, provisions, deliverance, freedom, restoration and healing.
Jesus is the presentation of the Kingdom of God. He is here with us. We can enjoy all these here, right now because of Jesus. He is here with us. He will change our situation.
We can love people because God first loved us.
