Ps. Brendon Clancy - Excellent Service

Sunday, 3 September 2017, 1.30 PM | Grand Hyatt Hotel, Singapore

Summary of the Sermon by Pastor Brendon and Cathie Clancy, Overflow Kids, OKTV Australia, at Bethany International Service, on Sunday, 3 September 2017.

Pastor Brendon and Pastor Cathie had a tough marriage but God restored their marriage after they rededicated their lives to Him.  The Lord began to change them into new creations in Christ.  Not only their marriage was restored, Pastor Brendon also managed to quit smoking! They began to personalise the Scripture into their situation and served each other in their home.

Connect with God and talk to Him privately on a daily basis.  The Word of God is our light, read God’s words consistently.  Be part of the family of God, be useful for the house of God.  Be proactive in our  own capacity, we can even start to look out and care for others.  God wants to use us in these seasons.   Our Lord is making us more like Jesus, as we let the Word of God dwell richly in our lives.  We are God’s people and therefore we should be excellent as our Father is.

But seek first His kingdom and His righteousness,

and all these things will be added to you.

(Matthew 6:33)

The Clancys love working with children.  These days, one of the best things we can do is to serve the Lord with our life.  Give our all to God.  At the moment, the Clancys are doing OK TV 13 episodes to reach out to 100 million children in their lifetime.  Have a sense of ownership of our Father’s business.

Whatever you do, do your work heartily, as for the Lord rather than for men,

(Colossians 3:22-23 NASB)

Wherever we are placed, God wants us to make an impact. Pastor Djohan shared about Christians bringing an impact to the seven mountains (Church, Government, Arts, Business, Education, Media, and Family) during the recent church retreat.  We can be in the entertainment world but it does not mean we have to follow the worldly values.  As children of God, we ought to be the light and shine for God wherever we are.  Let us be like the modern-day Joseph and Daniel bringing an impact to the community and people around them.  Start today to develop an attitude of excellent service to bring glory to God.
